State-run enterprises hold first joint recruiting examThe written exams for careers with Taiwan Power Company, Chinese Petroleum Corp. Taiwan, and Taiwan Water Company took place simultaneously in 25 different examination centers across the three cities. Although 19,000 of the 62,000 enrolled did not take the exam, only 2.9 percent of the participants will make it to the second round of recruiting, said a MOEA spokesperson. To reduce cheating, the exam was monitored by 1,249 supervisors and police officers from the department of telecommunications were dispatched to monitor unusual communication air frequencies surrounding examination centers. According to the MOEA, no cases of cheating were reported. The results of the exams will be posted next October online at the respective state-run enterprises’ websites. Qualified applicants will then be enrolled in internships based on test results with monthly salaries starting at NT$36,000. | |||||||||||||
