Updated Tuesday, March 27, 2007 0:00 am TWN, The China Post staff Three dead from carbon-monoxide poisoningThe bodies of Japanese Kazunori Ishii, 59, Taiwanese Chen Ling-ni, 40, and her daughter Chen Nai-hsuan, 7, were found in the fourth-floor apartment of Kazunori in the upscale Xinyi area. Police estimated that the three had died about two days prior to their discovery. According to police, the investigation was sparked by the absence of the executives at work yesterday. Co-workers tried to reach the deceased but to no avail. According to the landlord, he received a call from a co-worker who was asking about Kazunori’s whereabouts. As the landlord himself had not seen the deceased in about three days, he said he wondered if the deceased had been involved in an accident. When the landlord went to see the deceased, he said there was a foul smell emanating from the apartment, and the doors were locked. The landlord then contacted police, who discovered the bodies after they forced their way into the apartment. Initial investigation points at an accidental gas leak that caused carbon-monoxide poisoning as the cause of death. Kazunori had arrived in Taiwan recently on March 16 from Thailand to take over the position of manager of the Toshiba Home Technology Corporation in Taiwan. According to United Evening News, Chen also worked at Toshiba as a sales manager. Police are still unclear as to any further relation between Kazunori and Chen, or why Chen was in his apartment along with her daughter. | Breaking News Most Read |
