One of the nine monitoring poles fitted with cameras are now located behind the No. 53 street lamp pole on Yang-Jin (Yangmingshan-jinshan) Highway (opposite to No. 2-2 Zhuzihu Road on Yangmingshan). The speed limit is 40 km per hour. The speed limit for the following locations is set at 50 km per hour: — The intersection of Chongqing North Rd. and Zhongzheng Rd. (west to east direction). — The exit of Huaieng Tunnel at Section 6 of Xinhai Rd. (north to south direction). — The exit of Xinhai Tunnel at Sec. 4 of Xinhai Rd. (north to south direction). — In front of No. 46, Zhongxiao East Rd., Sec. 3 (near Jianguo South Rd., west to east direction). — At the opening of Lane 456, Guangfu South Rd. (north to south direction). — The intersection of Dunhua South Rd. and Bade Rd. (south to north direction). — At the partition island on Fuyuan Street near the Songshan Domestic Airport (west to east direction). — The intersection of Wenlin North Rd and Mingde Rd. (north to south direction). The fines for speeding are set according to the level of excess speed. The fixed speed monitoring poles take photos of more than 500,000 vehicles violating the speed limit or running red lights each year, generating around NT$900 million in revenue for the city government. Officials said the locations for the monitoring equipment have to be shuffled around for monitoring effectiveness and to promote public safety.
