Updated Friday, May 25, 2007 0:00 am TWN, The China Post staff MOFA warns visitors on Japan’s measles outbreakAccording to MOFA spokesman David Wang, the outbreak is mainly occurring in Tokyo, with many universities suspending classes until the end of this month. As the outbreak is still under control, the MOFA has not upgraded its travel alert for Japan, Wang said, adding that other countries, such as the U.S., the UK, France, Canada and Australia, have not upgraded their travel alert on Japan, either. Wang said prospective travelers to Japan can visit the Center for Disease Control’s Web site at http://flu.cdc.gov.tw for the latest information about the measles outbreak. The Tourism Bureau announced that children along with their parents and pregnant women who have already purchased spots in tour groups to the affected region scheduled to leave prior to June 8 may request a full refund (minus a 5 percent administrative fee).
