Full steam ahead

This photo shows an aerial view of Taichung Metro station in Beitun District. In October 2009, developers broke ground for the central city's first metro line, which was to be about 17 kilometers long. More than 92 percent of the steel railway track for Beitun station has been completed, and the project is expected to be finished by the end of the month. The city government aims to launch the metro system before the end of 2020, said Wang Yi-chuan (王義川), head of Taichung City's Transportation Bureau.
