TAIPEI -- Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. (宏達電) expanded its mid tier Desire family Wednesday with the launch in Taiwan of the Desire 510, a model targeted at budget consumers in the fourth generation (4G) mobile market.
Running Qualcomm Inc.'s quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, the Desire 510 ensures “silky-smooth graphics and browsing, enabling quick and effortless multi-tasking,” HTC said in a statement.
It also features a 4.7-inch display, 8 GB on-board memory, an expandable micro-SD card slot and a BlinkFeed live-streaming home screen, and will come at “a highly affordable price,” the company said.
“Owning the latest and greatest technology shouldn't be reserved for those with the highest budgets,” HTC CEO Peter Chou said in the statement.
“People today should expect their smartphones to double as mobile entertainment hubs. This means ensuring that they're fully loaded with the latest movies, TV shows and albums, by taking advantage of the super-fast network speeds available.
