TAIPEI -- Taiwan's Asustek Computer Inc. (華碩) said Wednesday that the 5-inch version of its low-cost ZenFone series remained the bestselling smartphone in Taiwan in June.
Holding the top spot in the domestic market for the second consecutive month, the 16GB model of the ZenFone 5 was one of four Asustek smartphones among the 10 bestsellers in June, the company said in a press release, citing market research data.
The other three Asustek phones on the top-10 list were the 8GB ZenFone 5 in sixth place, the 8GB ZenFone 4 in eighth spot and the 32GB ZenFone 5 at No. 10, the company said.
It did not mention the market shares of the four ZenFone models, or data for the products of the other brands in the top 10 rankings in June.
In May, Asustek sold 105,000 ZenFones in Taiwan, vaulting into a spot among the top three handset vendors in the local market, with a 14-16 percent market share, according to Asustek Vice President Benson Lin.
