TAIPEI, Taiwan -- FlyOver Canada, a theater offering a virtual flight ride experience over Canada, became a must-see attraction when it opened at the Canada Place pier in Vancouver in July 2013, attracting over 500,000 visitors in the first five months after its launch.
Most people, however, are probably unaware that the dynamic flight theater was created by Taiwan-based Brogent Technologies Inc., a leader in simulation technology that is making inroads in the global entertainment equipment market.
Due to the huge success of FlyOver Canada, Brogent has obtained over 10 orders from foreign clients, including some in China and Japan, since the second half of 2013.
Established in 2001, Brogent developed its first i-Ride dynamic flight theater in 2007 and managed to win its first contract for the product from the E-Da World theme park in Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan.
The theater, Fly Over Taiwan, was officially opened in July 2010.
FlyOver Canada is using third-generation i-Ride technology, which has undergone various improvements since the flight theater was first put on the market, according to Brogent.
Company executive Chang Ming-chi proudly boasted that i-Ride is completely "made in Taiwan," with all of its parts and components supplied by over 30 Taiwanese manufacturers.
He said officials from Taiwan's Ministry of Culture were deeply impressed after seeing FlyOver Canada, and the ministry is considering cooperating with Brogent to create an official version of "Fly Over Taiwan" to promote Taiwan.
