TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A recruitment fair showcasing more than 400 employment opportunities in Taipei by nearly 40 Malaysian enterprises concluded yesterday, drawing more than 1,000 Malaysian college students currently studying in Taiwan.
Now in its second run, the event was organized by the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Taipei (Maycham) and took place at the Chinese Culture University (中國文化大學) in Shihlin District last Saturday and Sunday.
Most notably, the event this year featured the addition of athletic games, designed to promote cultural exchange between Taiwanese people and Malaysians.
Maycham President Richard Tan (陳列欽) stated that the event this year improved markedly from the 300 attendanees vying for 100 jobs posted by 15 Malaysian enterprises seen last year. Tan also stated that he is encouraged by the positive feedback on new hires given by Malaysian enterprises. According to Tan, students educated under Taiwan's stellar academic institutions are highly regarded among Malaysian enterprises.
