TAIPEI -- Four trade shows for motor vehicles and auto parts that closed Saturday are expected to generate a total of around US$600 million in business for the exhibitors, the organizers said.
Dubbed Asia's best four-in-one motoring hub, the event attracted 50,868 visitors from home and abroad, including a record high of 7,017 international buyers from 128 countries, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council said in a statement.
The four shows are the Taipei International Auto Parts and Accessories Show, the Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show, the Taiwan International Motorcycle Show and the Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show.
The four-day fair not only served as a great opportunity for boosting exports by local manufacturers but also provided one-stop shopping services for visitors, the council said.
The show had a record 1,346 exhibitors who showed products ranging from automotive lighting and motors to dash cams and anti-theft devices.
The 284 one-on-one procurement meetings organized on April 9 for 115 companies alone generated US$330 million in business, the organizers said, and when other on-site and follow-up business is added, the total business generated by the show could hit as high as US$600 million.
In 2015, the organizers will add another show featuring modified cars and auto beauty to the existing shows, the organizers said.
