Value of February export orders rise 5.7% on-year

TAIPEI -- The value of export orders received by Taiwanese companies in February hit US$30.71 billion, up 5.7 percent year-on-year and marking positive growth compared with January's figure, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) reported Thursday.
The figure for January and February combined totaled US$66.82 billion, representing an annual increase of 1 percent, MOEA tallies show.
During the two-month period, orders from China, Europe and Japan increased by 3 percent, 1.3 percent and 7.7 percent, respectively, while orders from the United States and the six major member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations declined by 1.8 percent and 0.8 percent, the MOEA tallies show.
