Taipei international expo for franchisees kicks off

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The 15th Taipei International Chain and Franchise Spring Exhibition opened at the Taipei World Trade Center Friday, with over 100 chain business operators participating.

The exhibition features around 500 booths promoting chain brands and trying to attract potential franchisees, according to the Taipei-based Association of Chain and Franchise Promotion, organizer of the annual event.

The exhibition, which will run through Feb. 24, brought in visitors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Macau on its opening day, the association said.

During the show, government authorities will also be showcasing various incentive programs, including investment loans, to encourage people to create businesses.
