Business delegates to visit Africa, Central America

TAIPEI--Taiwan will send business delegations to Africa and Central America later this month in an effort to seek more business opportunities between Taiwan and countries in the two regions, a foreign affairs official said Tuesday.

A delegation of Taiwanese business representatives is scheduled to visit Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Mauritania Feb. 24-March 9, said John Lai, director-general of the Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“This is aimed at promoting trade and economic exchanges between Taiwan and West Africa,” Lai said at a regular news briefing.
