Nearly 90% of companies planning to hire: survey

TAIPEI -- Eighty-seven percent of companies polled have plans to hire after the Chinese New Year holiday, the results of a survey by a local online employment broker have shown.

While 52.2 percent of the companies are hiring to fill positions left vacant due to staff turnover, 34.8 percent are doing so as part of business expansion plans, according to the survey released Wednesday, the first day of work after the six-day holiday.
