Taipei--The first Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council (ABAC) meeting of 2014 will be held in February in New Zealand and will be attended by Taiwanese business representatives, an official said Tuesday.
Taiwan's ABAC representatives Tsai Hong-tu (蔡宏圖) chairman of Cathay Financial Holding Co. (國泰金控), Matthew Miao (苗豐強), chairman of the MiTac-Synnex Group (聯華神通); and Cher Wang (王雪紅), chairwoman of HTC Corp. (宏達電) will attend the meeting, said Tom Chou, director-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of International Organizations.
The meeting is slated for Feb. 11-14 in Auckland. An ABAC-SOM Dialogue will be held at the same time in which ABAC representatives will meet with senior APEC senior officials, including Taiwanese foreign affair officials, Chou said at a news briefing.
Participants in both meetings will discuss issues related to the ABAC's theme in 2014, which is building an Asia Pacific Community and mapping out long-term prosperity.
