In 2013, TAIFEX organized a two-stage campaign aimed at encouraging local futures industries to launch diversified futures products. The second stage wrapped up in December.
TAIFEX data showed that during the campaign months from May to December, the average contracts striken per month by local futures dealers increased by 14.5 percent from the January-to-April period. TAIFEX attributed the achievement to the campaign.
The second stage of the campaign culminated in an awards ceremony held last week in Taipei. TAIFEX ranked participating futures brokers using two standards: growth rate and growth in trading volume, a different approach from “trading volume” last time.
TAIFEX noted that KGI Futures (凱基期貨) won the No. 1 award in terms of futures brokerage while Capital Securities (群益金鼎證券) Ching Kuo Branch outperformed all other competitors as the best IB.
In order to help futures brokerages solicit more potential investors, TAIFEX and Chinese National Futures Association (CNFA) organized a mock trading competition during September to November 2013. The competition attracted 3,000 futures traders and 44 futures companies
In the group of futures companies, Yuanta Futures (元大寶來期貨) and Fubon Futures (富邦期貨) took the top 2 places in the September-November period while KGI Futures again won in the September-October period.
In the IB team, Reliance Securities Co. (德信證券), Taiwan Cooperative Bank Securities(合作金庫證券) and King Fong Securities (金豐證券) ranked high in the September-October period.
