TAIPEI -- Taiwan's convention and exhibition industry will continue to grow this year as the government maintains its efforts to improve the country's global competitiveness, an official of the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) said Thursday.
BOFT Chief Secretary Paul Wang said his bureau has been striving to enhance Taiwan's industry structure and transformation and strengthen its service sector.
The total industry output for Taiwan's convention and exhibition sector is forecast to exceed NT$33.8 billion (US$1.14 billion) this year, extending its strong growth over the past few years, Wang said at a press conference to announce the results of a pilot program.
