CNALOS ANGELES -- Toilet-themed restaurants have for several years remained one of the most curious choices for customers who want to try something different in Taiwan and part of China.

Now, people can enjoy a similar experience in the United States.
The Magic Restroom Cafe became America's first toilet-themed eatery when it opened Oct. 18 in Los Angeles's City of Industry.
During its first few days in business, the restaurant has attracted many customers looking to get in on the strange dining experience that involves eating from toilets while sitting on toilets.
Seated on ceramic toilets, customers are served with food that comes with toilet-shaped bowls. Items listed on the menu include its signature “golden poop rice” (curry rice), “black poop” (chocolate sundae), “smells-like-poop” (braised pork over rice), “bloody number two” (vanilla-strawberry sundae) and “constipation” (zha jiang mian — literally fried sauce noodles).
A customer who opted to celebrate his birthday there appeared quite impressed with the new dining experience, describing it as “very special” and “surprising.”
Restaurant owner Yo Yo Li admitted that the idea to open such a restaurant was inspired by the Taiwan-based Modern Toilet Restaurant, which has rapidly expanded into a chain since being launched in 2004 and now has 11 outlets in Taiwan and China.
Li said she likes things that are “gross” and when she saw on the Internet that there were toilet-themed restaurants in Taiwan and Japan, she decided to introduce the concept to the United States.
