Orbotech Pacific is the Asia-Pacific subsidiary of Orbotech Ltd., whose imaging tools are used in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCB), flat panel displays and IC packaging, among other applications.
“The PCB market competition is reaching a fever pitch as many manufacturers of traditional main logic board (MLB) products are moving into production of HDI while HDI makers are investing in production lines for IC substrates,” said Arik Gordon, president of Orbotech Pacific Ltd.
“Orbotech's latest solutions are targeting these advanced applications, where we can help our customers to be more competitive by enabling them to produce finer products in higher yield and at higher throughput.” Gordon said.
Introduced for the first time worldwide at the 2013 TPCA show is Orbotech's new Ultra Fusion 600 automated optical inspection (AOI) system featuring advanced performance with high speed for IC substrate production down to 5 micrometers.
Also being presented for the first time in the Asia-Pacific is Orbotech's new Paragon-Xpress 50 laser direct imaging (LDI) system for mass production digital imaging of fine line HDI, flex and rigid-flex applications down to 15 micrometer line/space.
TPCA Show kicked off yesterday at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center for its three-day run, featuring 350 domestic and international exhibitors occupying 1,320 booths.
The number of this year's booths hit a five-year high, posting 25-percent growth compared with 2008. The number of mainland Chinese exhibitors jumped by 5.5 times from 2008 to 66. Orbotech Pacific is demonstrating advanced technologies in Hall 4F, Booth L924.
TCPA Chairman Rick Wu (吳永輝) revealed yesterday that TCPA is planning to publish annual Taiwan PCB white papers in the near term to keep the government in the loop about Taiwan's PCB industry developments.
