Far Eastone concluded that the time is ripe for 3C product outlets in Taiwan given that Taiwanese consumers are more and more price-sensitive due to gloomy economic prospects, and that making promotional discounts greater will fuel shopping sprees.
With a passenger flow of well over 500,000 per day, sales at the new Taipei Main Station outlet are expected to be great, according to Far Eastone.
To stimulate sales, Far Eastone showcased an assortment of 3C products and promised a 3-month guarantee.
Far Eastone's report also cited Insightxplorer's survey, saying that 47 percent of local consumers tend to purchase a new mobile phone even though their old ones are functioning well. Based on the survey, conducted on 700,000 members, Ruten Market Place's research indicated that Taiwanese smartphone users change their phones every one to two years, while 40 percent of the population under 18 years of age change their smartphones every year.
