Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor signs exclusive distributor deal for China

The KKL's Xiamen branch signed the dealership contract with the Xiamen Mintai Trading Co. Aug. 19 in Xiamen, in southern China's Fujian Province. The Chinese company is a Xiamen-headquartered Xiangyu Group subsidiary that handles trade with Taiwan.
The move is part of the KKL's bid for exclusive dealers in China, the company said, noting that it divides the Chinese market into five sections, each of which will have an exclusive dealer for KKL products.
Apart from the dealer selected to market its products in the northeastern and northwestern Chinese sections, it will also look for those in charge of sales in southwestern, southern and northern China, the KKL added.
Formal sales in those areas will begin following trial operations between the end of September and March 2014, the company said.
The KKL, operated by the Kinmen county government, opened its Xiamen branch in 2004 to begin making inroads into the Chinese distilled liquor market. At present, the company has several chain stores in Fujian.
