CNATAIPEI--The average global prices of LED light bulbs fell in June for the fifth straight month, a trend that should improve the energy-saving bulbs' market penetration, according to a market information advisory firm.

The average selling price of LED bulbs used to replace standard 40-watt bulbs declined 2.7 percent month-on-month in June to US$15.60, while that of 60W-equivalent LED bulbs dropped 1.6 percent to US$23.40, LEDinside said in a recent research note.
The firm described the falling prices as “strong propellers for market penetration and production capacity” and said they would also drive up competition among local brands.
