L'Hotel de Chine builds havens of serenity in modern-day Italy

In a bid to capitalize on Europe's struggling economy, L'Hotel de Chine Corporation has recently acquired two historic, century-old hotels located in the suburban parts of northern and central Italy.

According to L'Hotel de Chine President Dr. Emile C.J. Sheng, the company is continuing to look for acquisition targets not only in Italy, but also in France and Spain.

To further expand its international portfolio and franchises, l'Hotel de Chine also founded an international hotel hospitality management and consulting firm. Top executives from the industry are managing its overseas operations, marketing, sales and business development, the company said.

It is the first-ever Taiwanese business conglomerate to successfully build its own hotel brand overseas.

"This not only indicates L'hotel de Chine's formidable financial strength, but also represents CEO Nelson Chang's ambition to expand L'hotel de Chine internationally," the company said.

One of L'hotel de Chine's recent acquired Italian hotels — Villa de Monte Solare — is in central Italy, situated between Umbria and Tuscany. The other — Relais Sant' Uffiazia Wellness & SPA Hotel — is in northern Italy, only 20 minutes from Asti and 40 minutes from Alba.

There are altogether 50 rooms in both hotels, according to the company, adding that both locations offer top-tier spa services and exquisite dining in serene environments.

L'hotel de Chine currently has five major flagship hotels: Palais de Chine, Fleur De Chine, Chateau De Chine, Maison De Chine and ChinaTrust Hotels. Its 12 hotel chains in Taiwan now offer more than 2,000 rooms.
