McDonald's to hand out 340,000 free breakfasts March 18
The China Post news staffTAIPEI, Taiwan -- As part of its global campaign, international fast food chain McDonald's will give away 340,000 Egg McMuffins at its 346 restaurants across Taiwan from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on March 18.

About 5,000 McDonald's restaurants in more than 30 countries across 16 time zones throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa will be participating in the first and biggest National Breakfast Day to encourage good breakfast eating habits. The chain expects to serve up five million of its Egg McMuffins during this event.
McDonald's Taiwan is expected to serve more than 340,000 free breakfasts on this single morning, as 346 local restaurants with breakfast services will each be giving away 1,000 Egg McMuffins.
McDonald's Taiwan held the “Cheers To Morning!” kick-off event yesterday. Lynn Tan, the Managing Director of McDonald's Taiwan, led the chain's staff-formed Morning Cheer Squads to highlight its readying for the upcoming challenge of actually handing out tens of thousands of breakfasts nationwide in three hours.
“Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day. McDonald's Taiwan knows well the full potential of the breakfast market in Taiwan,” Tan said. “We hope that everyone will join us at Cheers to Morning, as McDonald's celebrates the first National Breakfast Day. We want to encourage good morning eating habits by inviting our people to try our iconic Egg McMuffin.”
