Computex Taipei slated to run 4 days from June 4The China Post news staff TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Billed as Asia's largest computer exhibition, Computex Taipei is set to launch June 4 and will run for four days until June 8.

To build anticipation, the event's main organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), will launch a series of related events in the run up to the excitement in early June, with the COMPUTEX D&I awards kicking off first. TAITRA said yesterday that the registration period for the COMPUTEX TAIPEI D&I awards have started and it will end on March 25. Now in its sixth year and organized by Germany's International Forum Design Hannover (iF), last year's COMPUTEX TAIPEI D&I awards attracted a record-high of 200 creations from seven countries, a 14-percent growth compared on 2011. According to TAITRA, the award winning projects will enjoy iF endorsement and promotion from every possible channel, such as through the COMPUTEX website and specialized booths at the exhibition.
