ASE reports year-on-year rise but month-on-month decline

Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), a leading Taiwan semiconductor testing and packaging firm, yesterday reported sales of NT$16.607 billion for January.

The figure was a decline of 12.6 percent from NT$19.001 billion for December and a rise of NT$13.555 billion for January 2012.

Sales from ASE's testing and packaging operations stood at NT$10.372 billion last month, a decline of 3.8 percent from NT$10.783 billion for December and a growth of 11 percent from NT$9.343 billion for January 2012.

Last month, ASE's packaging revenue stood at NT$8.184 billion, while testing revenue stood at NT$1.891 billion.
