HTC could unveil low- and medium-end models

The research and investment company said that with competition among low- and medium-end smartphones becoming more fierce, product cycles have been shortened from the original one year to nine and 10 months, and the possibility of low-end iPhone models cannot be ruled out.

On the HTC's flagship M7, the company predicted that it could be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.

Deutsche Securities also predicted that the M7 brand could spread to seven low-, medium- and high-end models, with the high-end model using a metal casing and the cheaper offerings using plastic casings.
