Fubon, Chinatrust, Mega Bank to pass NT$20 billion earnings: reportThe China Post Ted Chen--Fubon Financial (富邦金), Chinatrust (中信金) and Mega International Commercial Bank (兆豐金) are poised to report respective earnings to exceed NT$20 billion for 2012, leading the financial sector, a local newspaper said yesterday.

Without incident, earnings are anticipated to reach NT$160 billion, according to the United Daily News (UDN). Leading the sector are Fubon, Chinatrust and Mega Bank, with expected accumulated income of NT$26.53 billion, NT$ 20.65 billion, and NT$19.45 billion, respectively. The companies also are slated to report earnings per share (EPS) of 2.79, 1.8 and 2 respectively, according to UDN. Meanwhile, many other companies including Cathay Holdings (國泰), E. Sun Bank (玉山金), Taishin Bank(台新金), Shin Kong Bank (新光金), Taiwan Cooperative Bank (合庫) and Bank SinoPac (永豐金) are reporting EPS of greater than NT$1. Following the slight rebound in the global markets at the end of 2012, domestic financial institutions are anticipating improved performance in life insurance and portfolio investment operations, which may help in bolstering investment confidence.
