Manufacturing in Taiwan ranks 6th most competitiveCNA TAIPEI--Taiwan's manufacturing sector ranked sixth in a 2013 global competitiveness ranking but is expected to fall to seventh by 2018 because of the rise of Brazil, leading professional services firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited said.
December 31, 2012, 12:12 am TWN Deloitte, which publishes the Global Manufacturing Competitiveness Index once every two years, gave Taiwan 7.57 points (on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the highest) in the survey, putting it behind China, Germany, the United States, India and South Korea. The survey, which asked more than 550 CEOs and senior manufacturing leaders in 2012 to provide their perspectives on the manufacturing competitiveness of countries in 2013 and 2018, also saw Brazil move from eighth in 2013 to third in 2018. |
