HTC sales get off to a good start after reaching Apple settlement: brokeragesCNA TAIPEI -- Sales of HTC Corp.'s smartphones have gotten off to a good start since the Taiwanese company settled its global patent disputes with longstanding rival Apple Inc., foreign brokerages said.
November 22, 2012, 12:47 am TWN The initial demand feedback on some of HTC's new products seems positive, Goldman Sachs said in a report dated Nov. 19. The brokerage said its retail checks in Taiwan suggested that the black version of the HTC 8X — a flagship model using Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Phone 8 operating system — has sold out. Consumer inquiries on other color versions seem high, but HTC has not brought them to market yet, Goldman Sachs said. Many stores in the United States are also out of HTC 8X stock, the brokerage said.
