Mercedes-Benz Taiwan CEO to head India market

Kern will be succeeded by Eckart Mayer. As a German citizen, Mayer has been working for Daimler for nearly 20 years. Throughout this time he has accumulated substantial experience and knowledge in passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles. Moreover, he has taken various assignments on different continents, ranging from headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany and at Mercedes-Benz Latina in Miami all the way to South Africa. Mayer has been in South Africa for six years now and currently serves as the vice president of sales and marketing. Mayer has played an integral role in establishing Mercedes-Benz as the No. 1 premium brand in South Africa.

The official handover will take place in January 2013. With Mayer's extensive knowledge of the automotive industry and customer service, Mercedes-Benz Taiwan is one step closer to achieving its 2020 Strategy. In addition, Mercedes-Benz Taiwan would like to take this opportunity to express its sincere gratitude to the departing President and CEO Kern.
