More cruise liners drawn to Kaohsiung: port officialsCNA TAIPEI--The port city of Kaohsiung in Southern Taiwan is attracting an ever-rising number of visits by luxury cruise liners, officials from the city's Marine Bureau said yesterday.
October 23, 2012, 12:01 am TWN The number of Kaohsiung port calls by cruise liners increased from just five in 2009 to 13 in 2011. This year, 20 of the luxury vessels are expected to dock there, the bureau said. The Japanese cruise liner the Nippon Maru will arrive Oct. 24, bringing 426 Japanese passengers, the Marine Bureau said, noting that it will be the 17th cruise liner to visit the city this year.
