Taipei 101 offers opportunity to take romance to the next level

The China Post news staff--How much does it cost for a person to declare his/her love at the top of the world, in addition to substantial courage? For once there might be an extract answer — less then NT$310 per second for 5 minutes and 18 seconds.

The Taipei 101 offers what it described as a huge discount for a 168-second LED display on Taiwan's tallest tower on Valentine's Day. The price tag for a display that would “typically cost millions of dollars” is now NT$52,000, Taipei 101's Department of Building Businesses said in a press release.

From 5-10 p.m. on Feb. 14, Taipei 101 will display five groups of love declarations. Each entry will be displayed at a specified time and repeated 3 times, totaling 168 seconds on the 4 walls of the building from the 78th to 81st floor. The entry can be a love declaration or a marriage proposal, applications are now available online at the website www.101love.com.tw, the department pointed out.

The Taipei 101 love display has become well-known in Taiwan after it was featured in the TV romantic drama “In Time with You” (我可能不會愛你) in which the main character proposed to his love through the display.
