Taiwan enjoys major presence at Eurobike fair

While manufacturers from Europe and U.S are strongly represented in the trade fair, a majority of the products showcased are from world-famous Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers like Giant, Maxxis and Merida.

George Lin, president of Pacific Cycles, which specializes in high-end and foldable bicycles, said that 90 percent of the exhibits at the fair included products designed or manufactured by Taiwan, which has been called the “Kingdom of Bicycles” for years.

Taiwan's bike manufacturers have long provided design services for U.S. and European companies and it's time for the country to create its own brand, Lin said, adding that Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers were eager to participate in the trade show to reach European consumers directly.
