Cabinet approves 10 major solicitation projects

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Cabinet has approved 10 major investment soliciting projects, targeting to attract over NT$300 billion worth of investments in Taiwan by domestic and foreign enterprises, Chairwoman Christina Liu of the Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) said yesterday.

Liu said this is the first round of global investment solicitation initiative launched by the government.

Among the 10 projects are NT$88.4 billion investment in green energy and green construction, NT$71.1 billion for high-tech investment in Central Taiwan Science Park, NT$65 billion in cloud computing and WiMax development, NT$37.4 billion in urban renewal, NT$16 billion in Taoyuan aviation city, NT$13.4 billion in cultural, creative and digital contents industries, NT$12 billion in smart electric vehicles, and NT$11.4 billion in biotech and international medicare.
