But as of yesterday, the entire amount was already recovered thanks to generous donors who gave up their shopping vouchers to the central Taichung-based organization. TFCF's branches in southern Tainan also received over 100 donations since the issuance of the vouchers. Tainan County TFCF director Chou Ming-chuan said already the center had received about NT$77,600 in donations, and hoped to reach NT$1 million in two months' time. TFCF is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that dedicates itself to help needy children and their families with welfare and benefits. TFCF counts with 23 branch offices and 11 placement institutions throughout Taiwan. In 2007, TFCF received the Best Social Contribution Award for a nonprofit organization at the Taiwan Business Awards.
