Wiseman Re-elected As Chairman for 2012

Bill Wiseman, the incumbent Chairman of AmCham Taipei, was re-elected by acclamation by the Board of Governors to serve a second term in 2012. Wiseman is Managing Partner of McKinsey & company's Taipei office and a leader in the firm's Global High Tech Practice.

The Board also approved Wiseman's recommendation that the other AmCham officers continue to serve in the coming year. They are William E. Bryson, Jr. of Jones Day as Standing Vice Chairman, David Pacey of the Grand Hyatt Taipei as Vice Chairman, Carl Wegner of Standard Chartered Bank as Treasurer, and William J. Farrell of Boyden executive search as Secretary.

Wiseman has been with McKinsey since 2000, working across the global technology value chain and serving a mix of service providers, system OEMs, and semiconductor manufacturers, typically on topics of strategy and operations.

Before joining McKinsey, Wiseman was based in Raleigh, North Carolina, designing mixed-signal integrated circuits for IBM. Prior to that, he served as a Special Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy from 1992 to 1998. As a SEAL Platoon Commander, he served as a military adviser to units in South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Australia.

A native of Cockeysville, Maryland, Wiseman received an MBA degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business Administration in 2001, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1999, and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992.

“AmCham is completing an outstanding year in 2011 thanks to the hard work of our officers, Board, committee chairs, and office staff,” said Wiseman. “Coming off the strong momentum generated by our 60th Anniversary activities in the past year, I foresee an equally or even more successful year in 2012.” ■
