NSC offering internships to overseas Taiwan youths

The National Science Council (NSC) will sponsor a program allowing overseas Taiwanese youth to serve as interns with local companies during the summer.

Participants in the program will be working from Jun. 16 to Aug. 16. This is the fourth year the NSC has sponsored the program, in its continued efforts to seek qualified overseas Taiwanese to work on the island.

The internships are open to overseas Taiwanese who are citizens of the Republic of China between the age of 18 and 30, who have not received formal education in Taiwan after elementary school but have studied for at least two years at a college overseas, and have not held a full-time job in Taiwan in the past. This year, 200 positions are available.

Participants will each receive a NT$50,000 monthly stipend from the NSC. They however need to pay for room and board, transportation and round-trip tickets to Taiwan.

During their stay in Taiwan, participants must secure their own health insurance and half the accident insurance premium.
