Agreement to boost academic exchanges

KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan -- The National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST) has signed a cooperative agreement with the Australian Maritime College (AMC) to boost bilateral academic exchanges, NKFUST President Jou I-chang announced yesterday.

Jou and AMC President Malek Pourzanjani signed the agreement on behalf of their respective schools during a ceremony in the southern county of Kaohsiung a day earlier.

Under the accord, NKFUST will collaborate with the AMC to establish lecture courses, promote academia industry cooperation and conduct student exchanges in an effort to formulate training programs on fostering practical occupational skills in the students of both schools, Jou went on.

Established in 1978, the AMC is Australia’s national center for maritime education, training and research, Jou added.
