Chang Kai-chen advances to Taipei WTA Open final

TAIPEI--Taiwan's Chang Kai-chen entered the final of the US$25,000 OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open in Taipei Saturday with a 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 win over Misaki Doi of Japan.

World No. 100 Chang took 2 hours and 5 minutes to defeat her world No. 104 opponent.

Chang served three aces, but also had four double faults and had a 63 percent first serve rate.

She had said before the match that she was hoping to keep the title in Taiwan and to become the first Taiwanese player to get through to the final since Chan Yung-jan in 2009.

Chang later teamed up with Olga Govortsova of Belarus against Chan Chin-wei of Taiwan and Kimiko Date-Krumm of Japan in the doubles.

She is hoping to repeat Chan's 2009 feat of winning both the women's singles and doubles.
