Taiwan's Hsieh reigns at ITF tennis event in ChinaCNA TAIPEI--Hsieh Su-wei, Taiwan's top female tennis player, breezed past China's Duan Yingying 6-2, 6-2 Sunday to win the US$100,000 International Tennis Federation Women's Circuit in Suzhou, Anhui province of China.
October 15, 2012, 12:04 am TWN Hsieh, the top seed at China's third-largest women's tennis tournament, was dominant throughout the match, controlling the rhythm with both her forehand and backhand. Hsieh was expected to see her world ranking rise from 31st to 25th the following day with the points earned at the tourney, setting a record for a female Taiwanese player. Her compatriot, Wang Shi-ting, is the current record holder at 26th.
