Federer teams with former Sampras coach Annacone

LOS ANGELES -- Roger Federer, who won his 16th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, announced Wednesday on his website that he has decided to work with coach Paul Annacone, the former coach of Pete Sampras.

Former world number one Federer, whose next scheduled tournament is next month in Toronto, has previously worked with coaches Peter Carter, Peter Lundgren, Tony Roche and his Swiss Davis Cup coach, Severin Luthi.

Annacone, 47, has previously guided US legend Sampras and England's Tim Henman. During his playing career, American Annacone reached a career-high ranking of 12th in the world and won three ATP singles crowns.
