PARIS -- Defending champion Paris Saint-Germain earned its first win of the season in the French league by defeating Bastia 2-0 on Saturday, but lost star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to an injury.
Ibrahimovic had to come off after just 15 minutes with an apparent abdominal strain, but Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani provided goals in his absence.
Lucas met a cross from Gregory Van der Wiel to volley into the bottom corner from a tight angle in the 26th minute. Cavani doubled the lead by controlling a long ball from Marco Verratti before firing home in the 57th.
PSG has four points from two matches after drawing 2-2 with Reims in its opening game last week.
"We were more focused defensively," PSG coach Laurent Blanc said. "Bastia did not threaten much, so that made things easier for us because we like to dominate ball possession."
The game was marred by an incident after the final whistle, as Bastia striker Brandao waited for Thiago Motta in the tunnel and headbutted the PSG midfielder, leaving him with blood running down from his nose.
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi told BeIn Sport television that Thiago Motta had a broken nose and that Brandao "must be banned for life."
In his French league debut, PSG centerback David Luiz produced a solid performance. However, Ibrahimovic's injury comes just five days after Brazil defender Thiago Silva pulled his right hamstring in a friendly.
Cavani started the match as a winger, but Ibrahimovic's injury allowed him to play as a center forward, his favored position.
The Uruguay striker knocked down a high ball for Ezequiel Lavezzi, whose half-volley sailed over the bar in the 39th. Cavani then had a free kick saved by Bastia goalkeeper Alphonse Areola in the 78th.
Elsewhere, Lyon suffered its first loss of the season, falling 2-1 at Toulouse. Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro and Wissam Ben Yedder gave the hosts a 2-0 lead in the first half before Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette scored a consolation goal in the 75th.
Evian was thrashed for the second straight league game, losing 6-2 at Rennes. Sweden forward Ola Toivonen, Edson Mexer and Paul-Georges Ntep scored two goals each, while Evian midfielder Daniel Wass also netted twice. Evian lost 3-0 to Caen last weekend.
Guingamp substitute Ladislas Douniama converted a rebound in the fourth minute of stoppage time to stun promoted Lens 1-0.
Yeni Ngbakoto helped promoted Metz salvage a 1-1 draw with Nantes by converting a penalty in the 12th after Jordan Veretout opened the scoring for the visitors in the third minute.
Nice and Lorient played out a 0-0 draw.
On Sunday, Monaco visits Bordeaux, Marseille hosts Montpellier and Saint-Etienne faces Reims.
Lille edged promoted Caen 1-0 on Friday.
