Local team wins World Junior Tennis qualifiers

NEW DELHI--A Taiwanese team won in regional qualifying matches of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Junior Tennis competition Saturday and will represent Asia and Oceania in the world championship.
The Taiwanese team of Su Yu-hsiang, Ho Cheng-jui and Su Chin-yi was announced the winner after it beat a team from New Zealand in the tournament held April 21-26 in New Delhi, India.
The Taiwanese team will compete in the finals in August in the Czech Republic.
The ITF World Junior Tennis tournament first took place in 1991. In order to reach the finals, every nation, with the exception of the host country, must win through regional qualifying rounds.
