Schneiderlin signs 4-year deal with Southampton

Schneiderlin will remain at St. Mary's until 2017 after being rewarded for some influential displays for the Saints this season.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has played an important role for Southampton in their first season back in the top flight, missing just one Premier League match and scoring four goals.

Schneiderlin joined Southampton in 2008 and has been at the heart of their rise from League One into the Premier League.

That has been enough to convince new manager Mauricio Pochettino to ensure Schneiderlin's long-term future remains at St. Mary's.

“I am delighted that the club has been able to extend Morgan's contract,” Pochettino said.
