Cooper guides Dallas to first win of the season

Dallas was awarded a penalty kick in the 84th minute and Cooper beat goalkeeper Stefan Frei with a powerful drive into the left corner.

Earlier, Chad Barrett's goal in the 59th minute had leveled the game at 2-all as Toronto FC (1-1-2) erased a two-goal deficit.

Dynamo 1, Rapids 0 At Houston, Brian Ching scored on a header in the 20th minute and Pat Onstad stopped a penalty kick late in the game to lift Houston to its first win of the season.

Ching took a pass from Brad Davis on the left side of the box and angled it just under the crossbar, Houston's first goal in 254 minutes.

Onstad preserved the victory with a diving save on Conor Casey's penalty in the 83rd minute.
