Man City signs Haim from Chelsea; Stoor to Fulham

LONDON -- Manchester City Wednesday signed Israeli international defender Tal Ben Haim from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee. Ben Haim received a four-year contract, City said on its Web site, without disclosing financial terms. The move is subject to him obtaining a new UK work permit.

Elsewhere, City released striker Bernardo Corradi, Fulham signed Swedish defender Fredrik Stoor, Tottenham’s Jermaine Jenas and Michael Dawson signed contract extensions, and Arsenal added midfielder Amaury Bischoff from Werder Bremen.

Ben Haim, 26, joined Chelsea from Bolton last season and struggled to earn a first-team spot with John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho anchoring the center of the Blues’ defense. He made just 13 starts in his only season with the London club. City also said it released Corradi so he could join Italian club Reggina. Corradi, 32, joined City two years ago from Valencia and scored three goals in 29 games. He spent last season on loan at Parma.

Fulham signed Stoor from Rosenborg to a four-year contract until the summer of 2012, the club said on its Web site. He’s made eight appearances for Sweden, including three games at last month’s European Championship.
