Three Stade Francais players hit by swine flu

PARIS -- Three Stade Francais rugby players have been diagnosed with swine flu, the club said Monday.

The players, whose identities were not revealed, will be rested between 5 and 7 days depending on their symptoms, Stade Francais said in a statement. Their teammates will be given preventative treatment.

“After suffering flu-like symptoms for 24 hours, three players from the club have contracted the H1N1 virus,” the club said. However, it added that it is also possible the players have contracted a related virus called H2N3, which is less virulent.

Further tests are expected to confirm on Tuesday the exact strain of the virus.
