Updated Sunday, February 15, 2009 10:31 am TWN, AFP Waratahs beat Hurricanes in Super 14 rugbyAlthough only in the Hurricanes' half for less than 20 minutes of the match, last year's beaten finalists in the southern hemisphere competition made the most of their limited chances. Their first three attacking raids all produced tries and within half an hour they were up 19-0. They then produced their bonus-point fourth try at a crucial stage of the game with 10 minutes remaining and the Hurricanes closing fast. “You've got to score points when you get the chances and fortunately tonight we did,” said Waratahs captain Phil Waugh. “We played a lot in our own half, our kicking game probably wasn't up to scratch but we'll regroup. “We've got a six-day turn around so hopefully we can go back to Sydney and play a lot better than that” next Friday against the Chiefs. Waugh, who left the field with blood pouring from a head injury midway through the second half, was one of several people to come out the worse for wear in the ill-tempered Valentine's Day encounter, but he wasn't complaining. “You would have heard a lot more if we'd lost,” he quipped.
