Kaio Almeida sets world 200m butterfly record

STOCKHOLM -- Brazilian Kaio Almeida broke the 200 meters butterfly short course world record when he clocked one minute, 49.11 seconds at a World Cup meeting on Tuesday.

Almeida eclipsed Russian Nikolay Skvortsov's previous record of 1:50.53 set in St Petersburg in February.

China's Zhao Jing set two world records during the day in the women's 50 meters backstroke.

Zhao topped her morning heat by clocking 26.08 seconds, shaving 0.09 off Australian Marieke Guehrer's previous record set in Moscow four days ago.
